I thought this winter would never end. Thank goodness spring is here finally. Zorro and Annie are home from the findlay training school and both are doing extremely well. We took Zorro to a show and entered him in 6 performance classes and he won all six. The Adult horsemanship school was well attended this year at findlay and boy did we and the horses get a work out. And learned more than I could possibly hope for. Got to meet up with old friends and make some new ones too. Looks like we are not going to many breed shows this year and will be staying close to home going to open shows with Zorro getting him ready for the breed shows next year and showing bikers at hunter jumper shows. our first jumping show will be June 6th :>)) Also our first foal of the year was born on 5/13/09 by Bikers and Rackli. A outstanding piebald boy we name N'Co. So Hot I Sizzle. THere is video of him newborn on our video page on the ncogypsyvanner.com website If he looks anything like his full sister he is going to have freakishly huge feathering as she does. Well that is all for now.
Just got back from a exciting weekend of the Gypsy vanner annual meeting and seminar given by Mr. Wayne Hipsley. WOW pretty much somes it up. THe GVHS has never been in full force as it is now. many judges attending the seminar and helping work with the GVHS to make it continue on being the best of the best!
We also have to do a brag on our stallion who was just trained in 2008 and shown for his first year in 2008 Multi Supreme Grand CH. Mr. Bikers Conners N'Co. ended the year of 2008 with being GVHS High Point halter horse, 2008 GVHS high point performance horse and 2008 GVHS over all high point horse. We could not be more proud of our second stallion. OUr first stallion Supreme Grand CH. The Headliner was the No.1# Gypsy vanner for 2006/2007.
Our Filly N'Co. The Front Cover Story was the GVHS High Point halter Gypsy Vanner for 2007.
Hoping 2009 will be a successful year for N'Co. Gypsy vanners.
Winter is not being nice to us so far. With below zero weather in the minus zero digits I have not been able to get out with Bikers to any of his jumping lessons. Thank goodness for Findlay and two of my vanners are there until the end of April for training. Anticipation is being trained by Lauren Justice who trained our pretty girl Tizzy last year. From how i saw her train Tizzy I am confident Annie will come home a new girl! Of course we were lucky enough to also send Zorro back for another semister with Adam taking the lead again. We have seen the great things Adam has done with van Gogh and Bikers and are sure to see the same results with Zorro. of course none of this could be accomplished without the great instructors they learn under. Hopefully spring will arrive none to soon and we wil all be back in the saddle again.
Well today starts the new year with taking Zorro and Anticipation to fIndlay for training. We are excited to see how Zorro progresses and how Anticipation does with her beginning training. Have been off from Jumping with Bikers for a couple of weeks due to Xmas vacation, but hope to resume this coming Tues again. As i am sure with everyone else, we can not wait for summer to get here when we can ride everyday.
Well the year is finally winding down and on 12/5/08 we picked up Zorro from being trained at the university of Findlay by Katie Myers. Katie did a very nice job starting Zorro out for us. he takes his leads well and backs and pivots. We got to take a ride on him before bringing him home for a month for xmas vacation and then in Jan he will be returning for the spring semester. We are excited to watch him mature and his training progress. There are videos of Zorro on the video page off my site with my first ride on Zorro and hoping in a couple of days to have video of Zorros trainer in the finals with him. As many of you know Bikers and I have been in training for hunter jumpers for about 3 months being instructed by Robert Wayner. On 12/9/08 was the first day we actually put a pattern together with 4 jumps. I think it is more difficult for me to remember the jumping order than it is for Bikers to make the jumps. But i think we are both enjoying ourselves and it really teaches you to use your legs and body position for control.
The last show of the year for us was the georgia feathered horse classic for all drum, and gypsy horses and part bred friesian horses and friesians. We are proud to announce our Reg gypsy Vanner stallion Multi Supreme Grand Ch. Mr Bikers Conners N'Co. was once again High Point horse for the show. What a way Bikers to end your very first year out showing. WE could not be more proud. And thank you everyone attending these shows for all the wonderful compliments on Bikers. He is one awesome boy!

We are so proud to say that MR Bikers Conners N'Co. our 7 year old Reg gypsy Vanner stallion had a clean sweep at these two shows by going Supreme Grand CHampion both days over Reg Gypsy Vanners and Gypsy/Cob horses and winning almost every performance class he was entered in! So we can proudly say he is MULTI Supreme Grand Champion! Also our 2 year old filly N'Co. THe Front Cover Story was Reserve Champion mare. We would like to thank all those that cheered us on and the wonderful comments you gave about our vanners.
. And on Sunday he was Supreme Grand Champion Halter stallion and was awarded High Point Gypsy Vanner! Our coming 2 year old filly* N'Co. The FRont Cover STory won the 2 year old futurity class and also the best North American bred vanner in a class of 17. We are very proud of how well both did.
This has been a LONG week with going to watch the three horses at finals. Lauren and jen did wonderful in training Page and TIzzy. Tizzy took a second in reining and 2 nd in Trail and a 5th in colt pleasure and two first in horsemanship with lauren. Page took a 6th in colt western pleasure with Page. It was a pleasure to get to meet these two girls and I hope we will continue to keep in touch. Adam also did a wonderful job in training BIkers. he took a 1st on gymnastics. THey looked great together as usual. nOw the girls are home and my training starts with them now. Bikers will return home in a week and then go back to FIndlay to school with Cindy Morehead for 2 more months. And anyday we are awaiting the arrival of his first foal in the USA. Will give updates as soon as that happens.
